Electrical Installation
You must have a licensed electrician install separate 115VAC circuit,
meeting all local and state codes. The electrician must also install
a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) to the circuit.
Our whirlpool systems come with cord and standard 3 prong
plug which must be plugged into GFCI installed by licensed
electrician.
The GFCI must be tested regularly to insure safe operation of
whirlpool system.
To test GFCI:
1. First fill tub with water 2" above highest jet. Turn on whirlpool
system. Either push air button or "jets" button on (optional)
Electronic Bath controller both are pre-installed on bath rim.
2. Push the "test" button on GFCI. The power should then be
interrupted by GFCI.
3. Push the reset button and power should be restored.
If the GFCI does not operate in this manner there is a ground fault
current flowing which indicates the possibility of an electrical shock!
Disconnect power to the unit from the GFCI. Do not operate
whirlpool system if GFCI fails. Have a licensed electrician correct
problem.
Never test whirlpool system without first filling to at least 2"
above highest jet. Our pumps can "run dry" though prolonged
or repeated running dry pump can possibly damage pump/motor
voiding warranty.
